The Big Red Barn
Retreat is offering veterans, active-duty military members and their spouses,
and the public a chance to paint “happy little trees” August 10 from noon - 2
pm at the Big Red Barn Retreat, 8024 Winnsboro Road in Blythewood.
Participants
will be following along with a video from the late Bob Ross, famous artist
known as “The Happy Painter.” The goal of this workshop is to provide a
lighthearted approach to painting while allowing guests to interact in a unique
way.
“This workshop
will be an opportunity for participants to surrender to imperfection, mellow
out and paint some happy trees they can be proud of,” said Sutton Shaw,
Executive Director of the Big Red Barn Retreat. “With school quickly
approaching, this will be a fun way for families to wrap up the summer.”
Space is limited
to 15 participants and all materials will be provided. Email Jim Dukes,
Director of Healing Arts at [email protected] to reserve a spot. If you need
to cancel, do so at least 48 hours in advance so the Barn can notify persons on
the waiting list.
