Fire Marshal’s Office earns honors for safety (Page 191)

The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office was recognized for earning the Fire Safe SC Community designation during the recent Fire Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach.

The award represents outstanding efforts in fire prevention, including training, data collection and fewer home fires. It also recognizes the County’s fire alarm installation program for local homes.

The award was presented to Assistant Emergency Services Director/Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Miranda Spivey, Emergency Services Director/Fire Marshal Michael Byrd, County Fire Marshal Kevin Powers and County Fire Marshal Jim Ballentine by Josh Fulbright, with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
