Lexington County to kick off Ag+Art Tour Saturday (Page 145)

Lexington County is set to kick off the 2023 South Carolina Ag+Art Tour this Saturday, May 6 from 10 am - 4 pm. Visit seven tour sites across the county featuring local artisans at every stop during the free, self-guided tour.

During the tour visitors will have the opportunity to see first-hand where their food comes from, watch artists in action and purchase their works, enjoy the melodies of local musicians, and learn more about rural life.

• Fire Barrel Farm
• Hollow Creek Distillery
• Lexington Community Garden
• Mercer House Winery
• Locklair Farm
• The FARM 1780
• Phillips Market Center

Each tour site will feature artisans from painters and potters, to metalworkers, woodworkers, weavers, painters, musicians, storytellers, craftsmen, poets, and live musical performances. Some farms will offer products, such as jarred and canned foods, honey, baked goods, or even farm-fresh meals. Additionally, tour sites have prepared unique activities for the day, including yoga in the blueberry field at The FARM 1780, a candle making class at Phillips Market Center, and tours to educate visitors on agriculture at each site. There is no fee to attend; visitors can start and stop their tour at any location.

Newberry County Ag+Art Tour - May 20 - 21
Newberry County is the egg, dairy, and timber capitol of South Carolina. Explore Newberry’s rich agriculture and artistic heritage, May 20, 10 am – 4 pm and May 21, 1 – 5 pm during the SC Ag+Art Tour.

Richland County Ag+Art Tour - June 10 - 11
Richland County Ag+Art will feature a kickoff field day, farm tour and farmers market at Clemson Sandhill Research and Education Center May 30 from 2 - 6 pm Named for the sprawling “rich land” that supported hearty indigo and cotton plantations for generations, Richland County today is home to a diverse population of more than 400,000 residents. The Ag+Art tour will take place June 10 from 10 am - 4 pm and June 11 from 1 - 5 pm featuring 15 tour sites.
