Spokesdog Contest Underway: Your Dog Could Be the Face of Columbia Craft’s Bark Brew (Page 101)

Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS) and Columbia Craft Brewery have teamed up for an exciting Spokesdog Contest to find the perfect canine face for Columbia Craft’s seasonal release, Bark Brew. Dog owners across the Midlands can enter their furry friends into the contest by registering online at gogophotocontest.com/barkbrew from July 18 through August 31. Participants can upload a photo and a short biography of their dog, and the public will vote to choose the winning pup, whose image and story will grace the label of this year’s Bark Brew.

The contest closes at midnight on August 31, so there’s still time to get your votes in! While the top three vote-getters will win special prize packages, every dog entered in the contest has a chance to win prizes at the highly anticipated Unleashing Party.

Scheduled for September 20 from 4 to 8 pm at Columbia Craft Brewery, the Unleashing Party promises to be a dog-lover’s dream. The event will feature live music, food, dog sports, and a variety of vendors catering to both dogs and their owners. Attendees will also enjoy demonstrations by local working dogs, showcasing their incredible skills. Every dog in the contest will have its moment in the spotlight, strutting down the red carpet to receive recognition and prizes.

The event isn’t just about fun; it’s also a fundraiser for a great cause. All proceeds will support PAALS in raising, training, and placing service dogs with individuals with disabilities. The cost of training each service dog ranges from $40,000 to $45,000, but clients contribute only a small portion of this expense, with veterans and first responders paying nothing. PAALS also provides facility dogs for use in education, therapy, victim and trauma services, ministry, and rehabilitation.

By participating in the Spokesdog Contest or attending the Unleashing Party, you’ll be helping to underwrite these life-changing services for more individuals in need this year. So, whether your dog is a future superstar or simply a beloved companion, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and make a difference.
