Harry Parone Stadium was a fitting setting for the South Carolina High School League track and field championships this past weekend.

The Spring Valley High School facility saw the home team and two fellow Northeast schools sweep the boys and girls team championships in Classes 4A and 5A.

The Vikings’ boys claimed their third consecutive Class 5A title, while Blythewood took first-place honors in the girls’ division.

It was a clean sweep the following day as both Ridge View teams won in Class 4A. The Blazers were led by All-State wide receiver Jordon Gidron who claimed four gold medals, two individual and two as part of relay teams.

Both Westwood teams placed third and fourth, respectively, in the girls and boys’ divisions.
