Rep. Thigpen, Rep. Garvin, Sen. Scott and Sen. McLeod in collaboration with Medical University of South Carolina, R2SD, BBC, RCSD, and CFR would like to hold a Press Conference on Tuesday May 5, 2020 at 11:45A.M. at the SC State House. We will be announcing the next MUSC FREE COVID-19 Testing site for Richland County. Zip Codes 29223 and 29229 rank 1st and 2nd in confirmed cases in SC making testing in this area essential. All Residents, First Responders, Health Care Professionals and Essential Workers can get tested whether or not they are experiencing symptoms and without doctor referral. The testing will begin on Wednesday May 6th from 10:00AM until 3:00PM and go through Friday May 8th. Each day of testing will begin at 10:00AM and end at 3:00PM. All 3 days of testing will be held at Rice Creek Elementary School located at 4751 Hardscrabble Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
Thanks to MUSC for providing testing and data in combating this epidemic. Data driven decisions will enable better outcomes and responses as COVID-19 spreads. We don’t want citizens wondering whether they are infecting others. Knowledge is power and more information leads to informed decisions. Don’t leave it to chance. GET TESTED!
