PROSPERITY, S.C. – Tyler Campbell of Martin, Georgia, emerged victorious at the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Super Tournament, held on Lake Murray, with a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 42 pounds, 13 ounces. The tournament, hosted by the Capital City Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board, was the final event of the season for the BFL South Carolina Division. Campbell took home $4,732 for his efforts.

Campbell’s winning strategy involved targeting bass suspended in cane piles using a combination of topwater lures and swimbaits. “It was a typical herring bite,” Campbell said, noting that he covered nearly 150 cane piles throughout the tournament and burned around 50 gallons of gas each day. His persistence paid off when a last-minute five-pounder solidified his victory.
