Lauryn Taylor of Spring Valley made news this week.
Taylor’s collegiate career at Francis Marion ended last Saturday in a 54-40 loss to Belmont Abbey in the semifinals of the Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company Conference Carolinas tournament.
Taylor led the Lady Patriots with 12 points and 15 rebounds. It was the Conference Carolinas two-time Player of the Year and this year’s Defensive Player of the Year’s 49th career double-double who finished ninth all-time in scoring (1,644 points) and rebounds (1,023 boards) during her Francis Marion career.
It was also the Lady Patriots’ second consecutive 20-win season in finishing 20-8.
