Northeast seniors will be playing their final high school football game this Saturday.
The Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl will start at noon at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach. Ridge View head coach Derek Howard will serve as an assistant coach on a roster that will include his players offensive lineman Joshua Ladd and defensive lineman Cleve Tellery.
Teammate and wide receiver Jordon Gidron, who moved up his graduation date to this year and signed with the University of South Carolina, is committed to play in the Under Armour All-American Game in January.
At 1 p.m., the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will take place at Spartanburg High School. Blythewood defensive lineman Sterling Sanders is the lone Northeast player on the South Carolina Sandlappers’ active roster.

Richland Northeast quarterback Will Wilson, who signed with North Carolina State, opted out of the game. He is one of the finalists for the “Mr. South Carolina Football” award that will be presented at halftime.
Wilson threw for 2,482 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 1,144 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior.
The other finalists are Belton-Honea Path running back Marquise Henderson, Westside quarterback Cutter Woods, Rock Hill wide receiver Malik Clark and Gaffney offensive lineman Shed Sarratt.
