The Richland Northeast athletics department are seeking two new head coaches.
Last week, Walt Wilson announced his resignation as head football coach after five seasons.
During his tenure, the Cavaliers posed back-to-back seasons over .500 for the first time since 2010-12. A key reason was the play of quarterback and Wilson’s second Will who won the Mr. South Carolina Football Award in 2024.
Wil is entering his second season with the Wolfpack after scoring 10 rushing touchdowns as a freshman.
The Cavaliers are coming off a winless campaign this past season. They will head into spring camp with Jason Jones as the interim head coach.
Richland Northeast is also seeking a new boys basketball coach to replace Jacob Laurie. The Cavaliers have posted back-to-back losing seasons since 2024 and twice missed the playoffs.
