ECPI receives Cybersecurity Education Award (Page 175)

ECPI University was chosen to receive the 2022 Academia Circle of Excellence award from EC-Council for the second year in a row.

The 2022 Academia Circle of Excellence Award is a honor within EC-Council, which has more than 1,000 academic partners from K-12, technical institutes, colleges, and universities in North America. Only five educational institutions receive this award each year.

ECPI University’s Cybersecurity program uses the foundational knowledge and skills of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) cybersecurity framework, which includes the five-step process of Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Students then move onto advanced ethical hacking classes which incorporates EC-Council materials and labs.

“ECPI University works hard to give our students real-world cybersecurity experience through hands-on activities, industry externships, practical labs, and certifications,” said Dr. Keith Morneau, ECPI University’s Dean of Cyber & Information Security Technology. “We encourage our students to get the most out of their ECPI experience, so they are best positioned for success in their field. It’s so rewarding to be recognized by EC-Council for our role in engaging and educating the future cybersecurity workforce.”

The EC-Council helps organizations, educators, governments, and individuals address global workforce problems by developing and curating world-class cybersecurity education programs and certifications. The Council also provides cybersecurity services to some of the largest businesses around the world, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense, global intelligence communities, NATO, and over 2,000 of universities, colleges, and training companies.

For more information on ECPI University’s Cybersecurity programs, visit www.ecpi.edu.

Founded in 1966, ECPI University is a private university with 17 locations in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Texas and online. ECPI is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degrees. The university has programs in technology, nursing, health science, business, criminal justice, and culinary arts. Program availability varies by campus. For more information, visit www.ecpi.edu.
