The waters of Lake Murray will get a break this weekend from the Midlands Striper Club.
For the second time in three months, it will hold its monthly Youth Fishing Tournament at another remote lake. Clark’s Hill on Lake Thurmond will be the site for Saturday’s event.
Last month saw 18 youngsters combine to reel in 30 striped bass weighing 129.24 pounds. The youth groups were divided into 10 and under, 11 and under and Boys and Girls Big Fish.
The Club will return to Lake Murray on Sept. 16 for a Ladies' Tournament at the Dreher Island Community Center. They will hold a monthly meeting on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Flight Deck in Lexington.
