The S.C. High School League basketball playoffs will have a heavy presence in the Northeast area.
With the Ridge View boys and both Blythewood teams earning first-round byes in Class 5A Division I, each will have an opportunity to play host in the second and third rounds.
Blythewood will take part in a Thursday doubleheader with J.F. Byrnes. The girls game will take place at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, co-Region 5-5A champion Ridge View rolled to an 85-21 win over Stall. It will now head to Wando for the second round.
Sixth-seed Spring Valley was also victorious at home Tuesday. It routed Stratford 75-37 and will visit third-seed Summerville Thursday.
In Class 4A, Richland Northeast fell 64-23 to Daniel.
The Class 5A Division II girls playoffs opened Monday with Westwood defeating Conway 51-14. Aneya Britt scored 13 points and Amari Alexader added 10 points.
The Lady Redhawks will travel Thursday to third seed White Knoll.
On the boys side, the Region 5-5A champion and last year’s Class 4A champion Blazers are the number one overall seed in the Lower State. Winners of 19 straight in-state game, 13 this season, they will play host to Carolina Forest.
Westwood opened the Class 5A Division II playoffs Tuesday with a 60-35 win over North Myrtle Beach. The Redhawks will now travel to Lower State top seed Conway.
