Freshman pitcher Hayden Thomas of the College of Charleston was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Co-Rookie of the Week.

The Brookland-Cayce High School graduate picked up his first career win and save against William and Mary. He allowed only two hits while fanning nine in 4.1 innings. In the series opener he worked the seventh and eighth innings and struck out four, earning the win when the Cougars broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the eighth.

Two days later, he came in with two on and two out in the seventh and ended the threat with a
strikeout. He punched out the side in the eighth and finished to preserve a 3-0 win.

Thomas has a 2.02 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 26.2 innings on the year.
