For the second straight year, Caroline Hawkins of Blythewood High School was crowned the individual champion at the Class 5A girls’ golf championship Tuesday.
This time, she accomplished it in a record-setting fashion. Hawkins’s two-day score of 11-under par 135 not only won the event by 14 strokes. Her final score was one lower than the previous record of 136 previously held by Lexington’s Lauren Stephenson set in 2014.
