The second-ranked Blythewood girls remain perfect in Region 5-5A after going unscathed the first time around against its region foes.

Tuesday’s 53-35 win at Ridge View was the ninth straight win for the defending Class 5A Division I champions. The Lady Bengals (15-4, 6-0) will begin the second half of the region schedule Friday against Westwood.
Another defending champion also saw action Tuesday in View County. In a rematch of last year’s Division I final, second-ranked Ridge View boys routed Blythewood 78-41.
C.J. Moore had 14 points, R.J. Davis finished with 11 and JT Van Kallen had 10 points and three steals for the Blazers (17-3, 5-1). They stayed a game behind Division II 2nd ranked Westwood, who defeated Sumter 70-50 for their seventh straight win.
The Redhawks (17-1, 6-0) travel to Ridge View Tuesday looking to sweep the season series. Westwood won the first meeting 64-61 at home.
