The College World Series will have a Northeast connection this year.

Former Blythewood standouts pitcher Zac Cowen and infielder Ty Dooley of Coastal Carolina will join their respective teams in Omaha, Neb.

The Chanticleers will open play at 2 p.m. Friday against Arizona. At 4 p.m. Saturday, the Tigers will meet SEC rival Arkansas.

Cowan finished 3-3 with a 2.38 ERA, six saves in 20 relief appearances, and 53 strikeouts during the regular season. The junior Wofford transfer earned All-SEC first-team honors.

Dooley is in his third season with the Chanticleers. The Radford transfer is batting .298 with 36 RBI and six home runs. He’s also one of three former Lexington County Blowfish players on the Tigers’ roster.

All games will be aired on ESPN.
