Former Ridge View wide receiver Jordan Smith is headed back to the Cricket Celebration Bowl.

The South Carolina State senior found the end zone in the Bulldogs’ 28–17 win over Delaware State on Saturday, a victory that clinched the program’s second straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title and its 20th overall. Smith hauled in a team-high four receptions for 53 yards to help secure the championship.

With the win, S.C. State (8–3) advances to the Celebration Bowl on Dec. 13, where it will face the Southwestern Athletic Conference champion. The Bulldogs are 1–1 all-time in the event—defeating Jackson State in 2021 and falling to the Tigers last season.

Smith has been a key playmaker throughout the year and leads the Bulldogs with a career-high 50 receptions for 748 yards and six touchdowns.
