Richland Two Board of Trustee Dr. Monica E. Scott, has been recognized by the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) for 10 years of school board service.
Dr. Scott was first elected to the Richland Two Board of Trustees in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016 and 2020. An educator for more than 30 years, Dr. Scott worked in a variety of capacities before retiring. She taught at the elementary and high school levels and served as a school administrator and principal. During her time on the Richland Two school board, Dr. Scott has completed the highest Level 6 training in the SCSBA Boardmanship Institute.
This year, 34 school board members from throughout the state received special lapel pins for reaching the 10 or 15-year benchmark. Another 18 commemorated their 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, or 40th year of school board service.
SCSBA is a non-profit organization serving as a source of information and a statewide voice for boards governing the 77 school districts. SCSBA and the local boards value the opportunity to honor board members for their long-term dedication to improving student achievement in their communities.
