COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland School District Two is excited to announce the appointment of two new principals for Polo Road and Jackson Creek Elementary Schools. Terence T. Isaac will step into the role of principal at Polo Road Elementary starting October 1, 2024, while Patrina T. Smith has been named principal-elect of Jackson Creek Elementary, with her tenure beginning on July 1, 2025.
Terence T. Isaac brings over a decade of educational experience to his new leadership role. He has been serving as assistant principal at Lake Carolina Upper Campus, with previous experience at Sandlapper Elementary. Isaac’s background also includes years as a teacher at Polo Road Elementary and as a program director at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands. His dedication to student success, curriculum development, and teacher support has been a hallmark of his career.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Isaac as the new principal of Polo Road Elementary,” said Superintendent Dr. Kim D. Moore. “His strong leadership skills and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment will greatly benefit the Polo Road community.”
Isaac holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. In his new role, he aims to continue building on the school’s successes while focusing on student achievement and growth.
Isaac is married to Jennifer Isaac, a fellow Richland Two teacher. In his spare time, he enjoys vacationing, hiking, and spending time with family.
Patrina T. Smith has been appointed principal-elect of Jackson Creek Elementary and will officially take on the role in July 2025 following the retirement of current principal, Dr. Mosso-Taylor. Smith, who has served as assistant principal at Jackson Creek Elementary, brings over 20 years of educational experience, including more than a decade in administrative roles.
“We are excited to see Ms. Smith step into this leadership position,” said Dr. Moore. “Her deep understanding of the Jackson Creek community, combined with her passion for education, makes her the perfect candidate to continue the school’s legacy of academic excellence.”
Smith holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from South Carolina State University and a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. She has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including being named Teacher of the Year at North Springs Elementary School.
In her free time, Smith enjoys watching crime shows, trying new foods, shopping, and listening to live music.
Both leaders are eager to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure the continued success of their schools.
