Columbia, SC – August 15, 2024 – After severe flooding damaged a home in Blythewood, Rumsey Construction & Restoration (RCR), a local business specializing in disaster response, has stepped up to assist a family in need. The flooding, caused by a failed storm water drainage system in a newly built neighborhood, left the family’s first floor completely destroyed, with much of the damage not covered by insurance.
A Commitment to Community
When RCR learned about the family’s situation from a recent news report, they felt compelled to take action. “Seeing the devastation this family has experienced, we knew we had to help,” said Brendon Rumsey, a partner at RCR. “Being part of a community means supporting each other in times of need, and that’s what we’re here to do.”
RCR is partnering with Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. to restore the family’s home. Together, they aim to help the family regain a sense of normalcy after this unexpected disaster.
