Valet Technologies
Thank you for checking out the Valet Tech corner. We will be writing tech articles without all the tech jargon so you can better understand technologies and how they can benefit you.
This article will be a continuation of last week article for businesses having a technology partner. As the recession begins to settle in, there will be companies that survive and those that will thrive. Leveraging technology will allow you to do more with less. As we stated in the last article with the example of data entry saving $5200/year for one just one employee and not needing to increase hire more people.
A recent study showed that the average person loses five hours a week due to technology problems at work. At first this may seem a large number, but that is only one hour a day and when you add up the five minutes here (5 min x 8 hours = 40min) or ten minutes (10 min x 8 hours = 80 min) there waiting on printing, sending files, slow internet, or fill in blank for having to wait or fix something, it becomes evident that five hours a week not out of the question. If we use the same numbers from last week of $20/hr that is $100/week or $5200/yr per person. If you have a five people in your company that is $26,000/yr. Even of you don’t look at the financial impact, you are losing 260 hours a year in productivity per person. If you want another number to think about, the loss is 12.5 percent of productivity to technology issues.
A good technology partner will be a true partner with your business. Your success is there success. This may sound like a cliché, but the reality is that if you don’t make money, they don’t make money. They should be able to help with low hanging fruit quickly as we mentioned in the last article, but as the partnership grows and they learn more of your business and you learn of what can be accomplished with leveraging technology, the advances will become larger and larger for your company. You will be able to do more with less and begin to pass your competitors and maybe even acquire a few along the way. If this happens, your technology partner will play a vital role for the integration of the other companies.
These are just a few examples of how a technology partner can help get the most out of what you already have. We could easily write many more articles on having the correct technology partner, but if you would like to discuss over the phone, coffee, or lunch sometime, just let us know.
