The inaugural 803 Day celebration is set to bring the Midlands area to life on August 3rd with a variety of activities and promotions. Inspired by the local 803 area code, this event promises to unite the community through a day filled with fun and excitement.
Schedule of Events:
803 Day 5K Run/Walk (8 am): Kick off the day with a scenic 5K run/walk through Forest Acres. Open to all ages and fitness levels, this event supports the Cola Rose Shower, a nonprofit promoting awareness of feminine care issues in the Greater Columbia area. Early bird registration is $30. 803 Photo Op at the SC State House (11 am): Capture a memorable moment with a group photo at the historic South Carolina State House. Gather at 11 am in front of the State House steps.
Free 803 Day Festival (noon – 5 pm): Enjoy the Robert Mills House & Gardens with live music, interactive art installations, food trucks, vendors, and family-friendly activities. VIP Tent access is available for $50, offering early entry at 11:30 am, a covered tent area, cooling fan access, and a private refreshments area. Register at 803 Day.
Citywide Scavenger Hunt: Test your sleuthing skills in a citywide scavenger hunt via the Soda City Certified app. Solve clues, uncover hidden gems, and compete for prizes. Download the free app and enter pin codes to collect points.
$8.03 Specials: Local businesses are encouraged to offer $8.03 promotions. From restaurants and bakeries to retail shops and barber shops, everyone is invited to join the celebration.
“We are excited to introduce the inaugural 803 Day celebration and bring together the entire community for a day of Soda City love,” said event organizer Khali Gallman. “803 Day is more than an event; it’s an opportunity to embrace the heart of our great state. The day symbolizes unity, pride, and the vibrant spirit of the area. We encourage everyone to participate in one or more activities as a patron, volunteer, partner, or sponsor.”
