The pool at the Harbison Community Association on Hillpine Road was the site for the Annual Officer Water Survival Course.
The two-day course for new SCDNR officers helps prepare them for different water related situations they may encounter in the performance of their duties patrolling South Carolina waterways. Water situations may range from survival in the water as well as emergency situations such as submerged vehicles that are passenger occupied.
This course provides the tools that will enhance the officer’s performance in hostile aquatic environments when protecting themselves and the public at large. Ensuring the safety and well-being of the public in their use and enjoyment of the state’s natural resources is a consistent goal of the DNR.
