The 282d Army Band and Fort Jackson are continuing a tradition with the Annual Home for Holidays Concert. The band wants to spread the holiday cheer and bring people together, including the trainees who are not going home for the holidays, to enjoy a free concert in the local community.
On Dec. 22 at Koger Center of the Arts in Columbia, S.C., the concert starts at 7 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m. There is no charge or tickets required.
The concert will feature holiday selections performed by the rock band, jazz combo, New Orleans style brass band, woodwind quintet, and brass quintet.
“We are excited the instill the holiday spirit in the local community area and continue to build strong ties between Fort Jackson and the surrounding area,” said Fort Jackson 282d Army Band Commander Chief Warrant Officer Three Kevin L. Pick.
