Dominion Energy is making steady progress in restoring power across South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene, with 95% of customers in Richland and Lexington counties expected to have their electricity back by Thursday, October 3, at 11 p.m. Crews have been working tirelessly to address widespread outages caused by the storm, and as of Monday morning, power had been restored to approximately 325,000 customers.

More than 2,500 Dominion Energy employees, along with numerous contractors and workers from other power companies, are working tirelessly to restore power across South Carolina following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Crews have been mobilized around the clock, focusing on the hardest-hit areas, including the Midlands. Their collective efforts aim to bring power back to thousands of customers as quickly and safely as possible.

Efforts are focused on the areas most affected by the storm, where damage has been severe and access remains difficult. Dominion Energy has now provided estimated restoration times for affected counties. Here are some key updates:

  • Richland: Thursday, Oct. 3, 11 p.m.
  • Lexington: Thursday, Oct. 3, 11 p.m.
  • Fairfield: Friday, Oct. 4, 11 p.m.
  • Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester: Sunday, Sept. 29, 11 p.m.
  • Beaufort: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 11 p.m.
  • Newberry: Wednesday, Oct. 2, 11 p.m.

Counties where damage assessments are still in progress, such as Abbeville, Edgefield, Saluda, and Greenwood, will have updated restoration timelines once assessments are complete.

Special Note: Due to extreme damage and limited access, restoration estimates for Daufuskie Island will be provided at a later date.
