One of the most exciting times of year for educators is here! The new school year begins Wednesday, August 17 for students in Richland School District Two. District officials are welcoming students back for another productive year of teaching and learning with a Back to School celebration.
Richland Two students and family members are welcome to the Richland Two Back to School Bash taking place this Saturday, August 13at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2) located at 763 Fashion Drive, Columbia. The Bash starts at 10 a.m. and will end at noon.
Free backpacks and school supplies will be given away. Quantities are limited, so first-come, first-served. The event is designed to help families connect with resources that will ensure a successful start to the school year. In addition to opportunities to sign up for afterschool programs, the MVP meal plan, and have vision screenings, there will be children’s activities, signups for the YMCA and county recreation sports leagues, and a job recruitment fair. Richland Library Sandhills representatives will also be on-hand for this free event, along with Hispanic family services.
