On February 7 Richland County Council presented a resolution recognizing February as Black History Month to L. Oveta Glover, president and founder of Friends United as a Neighborhood Development Society (FUNDS).
FUNDS will host its 18th annual Black History Parade & Festival from 1 – 6 pm on February 25. The parade will begin at Hampton and Harden streets, with the festival taking place at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 2300 Greene Street, Columbia.
