Julie Zimmerman has officially been graduated from the CVSC’s Palmetto Leadership Academy, completing a program focused on conservation, environmental stewardship, and leadership development across South Carolina.

The Palmetto Leadership Academy, an initiative from the Conservation Voters of South Carolina (CVSC), brings together emerging leaders committed to protecting South Carolina’s natural resources, waterways, public lands, and communities.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in discussions and training centered on conservation policy, sustainable growth, environmental advocacy, and civic leadership.

“Conservation is about protecting the places we love and ensuring future generations can enjoy clean water, healthy communities, and South Carolina’s natural beauty,” said Zimmerman. “As our state continues to grow, we must balance development with responsible conservation policies that preserve our rivers, forests, wildlife, and quality of life.”

Zimmerman emphasized conservation efforts also directly impact public health, economic growth, and disaster resilience throughout the state.

“Protecting our environment is not a partisan issue. It’s about safeguarding South Carolina’s future,” Zimmerman said.
