After initially announcing a hiatus, organizers have confirmed that the Lexington County Peach Festival will return in 2026.

The popular Fourth of July celebration, held annually in Gilbert, was previously canceled due to a shortage of personnel and volunteers needed to manage the large-scale event. However, an outpouring of public support and community response prompted organizers to reconsider, ensuring the festival will continue into its 66th year.

Despite Gilbert’s population of approximately 600 residents, the festival draws thousands of visitors to the area each year, making it one of Lexington County’s most anticipated Independence Day traditions.

The 2026 event, scheduled for July 4, will feature a parade, car show, craft vendor market, carnival rides, live music and a fireworks display to close out the celebration. Festivalgoers can also expect plenty of peach ice cream and other peach-themed treats throughout the day.

The event will once again be held at Gilbert Community Park as the community gathers to celebrate both Independence Day and one of the Midlands’ longest-running summer festivals.
