COLUMBIA – Mayor Daniel Rickenmann has officially kicked off his re-election campaign, outlining a bold vision to continue building on the momentum Columbia has seen during his first term.

“Our city has made great strides, but we’re not done yet,” said Rickenmann. “I’m running for re-election to continue building a Columbia that works for everyone — where opportunity, safety, and community thrive together.”
Central to Rickenmann’s platform are major economic development projects, strategic infrastructure improvements, and strengthening partnerships with local businesses and higher education institutions. He believes these efforts will put Columbia on a path toward historic growth and long-term prosperity.
“I believe we are changing the narrative from how the Midlands trails the Upstate and Lowcountry to how the Midlands is outpacing them with development and opportunity,” Mayor Rickenmann said. “Great things are in store for this region if we continue working together to solve today’s problems and ensure tomorrow’s prosperity.
Rickenmann, who was first elected in 2021, has focused on neighborhood revitalization, economic opportunity, and public safety. His campaign promises to continue that work by fostering collaboration and investing in initiatives that benefit all Columbians.
