COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Pediatric Alliance (SCPA), one of the Midlands’ largest pediatric healthcare networks, has announced the appointment of Shannon Godby as its new Director of Human Resources.
Godby officially joined the organization on July 6, bringing more than 25 years of human resources leadership experience, including extensive work within healthcare organizations. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for developing strong teams, fostering positive workplace cultures, supporting employee development, and helping organizations achieve their strategic goals. Her expertise includes talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, organizational development, and strategic human resources leadership.
“We are excited to welcome Shannon to the South Carolina Pediatric Alliance family,” said Mark Delahunty, Chief Executive Officer of SCPA. “Her depth of experience, proven leadership, and passion for people make her an outstanding addition to our team. As we continue to grow and serve children and families across the Midlands, she will play a key role in strengthening our workplace culture and ensuring SCPA remains an employer of choice in South Carolina.”
As Director of Human Resources, Godby will oversee the organization’s human resources strategy and initiatives while supporting SCPA’s continued growth and enhancing the employee experience across all locations.
During her first weeks with the organization, Godby plans to visit each SCPA clinic and department to meet employees, learn more about their roles, and gain a deeper understanding of the culture and values that define the organization. She said she looks forward to building relationships with staff and partnering across the organization to support SCPA’s mission and future success.
Formed in 2015 through the merger of Sandhills Pediatrics and Palmetto Pediatrics, two of South Carolina’s largest independent pediatric practices, the South Carolina Pediatric Alliance has grown into one of the state’s leading pediatric healthcare organizations. The alliance was recently named the 2026 Guide to South Carolina’s Best Pediatric Practice, recognizing its commitment to providing quality care for children and families throughout the Midlands.
