Small businesses are the core of our economic success and this Saturday, November 27, 2021, is Small Business Saturday – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. This year, we know that small businesses need our support now more than ever as they work to provide local communities with the quality they gave us prior to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Local small businesses are participating this holiday season everywhere to serve the post-COVID shopping landscape. Consumers will be returning to brick-and-mortar mom-and-pop shops, restaurants and service providers to take advantage of opportunities presented by Small Business Saturday.
American Express kicked off the Small Business Saturday for the first time as a shopping holiday in 2010. The idea was to redirect shopping to local stores. Now, ten years later, it is observed in all 50 states and in 2011 the Senate passed a resolution recognizing Small Business Saturday.
