Adult literacy council Turning Pages SC is excited to host the annual “Authors for Literacy” as part of its 55th birthday bash, “Dive into a Literary Feast.” Scheduled for Saturday, August 26, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at River’s Edge Retreat, this collaborative fundraiser celebrates both local authors and the organization’s milestone service achievement.

“Authors for Literacy” will feature over a dozen distinguished local authors, including Jerry Bellune, Founder of Lexington County Chronicle, picture book author Lisa Cole and accomplished historical novelist Tom Elmore. Attendees can enjoy a poolside BBQ, along with an author meet & greet session, where authors will showcase their works and engage in enriching conversations.

In its 11th year, “Authors for Literacy” supports Turning Pages SC, combining a passion for literature with the organization’s commitment to adult literacy. This partnership highlights the importance of books in building connections and shaping brighter futures.

Guests at the “Dive into a Literary Feast” event will have the unique opportunity to interact with these talented authors, explore their literary creations, and celebrate the love of reading.

Tickets for this combined celebration are available at turningpagessc.org/birthday. Authors for Literacy welcomes all book enthusiasts, supporters, and community members to join in this celebration of literature that will help fund crucial literacy programs in 2024.
