COLUMBIA, S.C. — Due to the impact of Tropical Storm Debby and with safety in mind, Richland School District Two will operate on a one-hour delay for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Here’s what the one-hour delay means:

  1. Bus Riders: Students should report to their bus stops one hour later than usual.
  2. Car Riders: Students should arrive at their schools one hour later than usual.
  3. Employees: Unless otherwise notified, employees should report to work one hour later than usual.

For example, if a school normally starts at 7:40 a.m., it will start at 8:40 a.m. instead.

Normal School Start Times:

  • Elementary: 7:40 a.m.
  • Middle: 8:20 a.m.
  • High: 8:50 a.m.

Richland Two will provide immediate notifications via ParentSquare if there are any further changes to the school schedule.

Stay safe, and we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
