For the second consecutive year, Rice Creek Elementary School of Academics, Innovation and Leadership (SAiL) student Alana Inez Wilson is competing for a national gospel recording artist award. She has been nominated in the 37th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Alana, who uses the stage name of Alana Inez, is a fifth grader at Rice Creek Elementary. She is in the finals for Youth Project of the Year. Her album, Thank You Lord, is in category 22.

“I had so much fun last year and met so many artists who I look up to and admire. I’m really excited to have this opportunity again,” said Alana.

Alana’s parents, Sean Johnson (musician) and Laura Johnson (gospel recording artist), are employees of Richland Two. They are encouraging everyone to vote for Alana now through Monday, April 25th on the Stellar Awards website.

“We need the entire Richland Two family and community to use their cell phones, tablets, desktop computers, whatever you have, and vote for Alana,” said Laura Johnson.  “Alana made her debut at the Stellar Awards last year with her album, Child of the King. We are so thankful for all of the support she continues to receive as her musical career grows.”

Your vote will determine the projects that move on to become the Stellar Award winners. You may vote for one artist in each of the 28 categories. Three votes per household are allowed. Voting ends on Monday, April 25.  The awards ceremony will be held July 15-16, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia.
