LEXINGTON, S.C. – The town of Lexington is inviting the community to step back in time and experience history like never before at “The Shot Heard Round The World,” a special event marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

When: April 19, 2025 | 4:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Old Mill Pond Trail, Lexington

This event will highlight the battle that changed history and gave Lexington its name. It will feature historical exhibits, live demonstrations, and a special toast in honor of the Revolution.

Event Highlights:

🔹 Living History Exhibits – Learn what life was like during the Revolutionary War through interactive displays.
🔹 Lantern Tours – Walk through history with actors from the Soda City Theatre Company, bringing colonial times to life.
🔹 Cannon Demonstrations – Experience the power of the past as real cannons fire over the pond.
🔹 Hands-On History – Explore historical artifacts and activities with the Cayce Historical Museum and Lexington County Museum.
🔹 A Special Tribute – At 7:30 p.m., attendees will raise a glass of locally made cinnamon whiskey from Hollow Creek Distillery in honor of the “Shot Heard Round the World.” (A non-alcoholic option will also be available.)

The 250 American Revolution: Lexington County committee was created in 2023 as part of the statewide SC250 initiative. Its goal is to preserve, share, and honor Lexington County’s role in the American Revolution.
