A NEWSPAPER OF OUR OWN
FOR THE NORTHEAST COMMUNITY

A Community is only as strong as its newspaper.

Established in 2006, The Northeast News is a weekly community newspaper serving the entire Northeast area -- from Blythewood to Elgin to Forest Acres, including Spring Valley, Wildewood, Lake Carolina, Decker, Trenholm, The Summit, Ridgeview, Killian and Dentsville. The Northeast News is independently owned and locally operated, relying on local contributors, columnists, photographers, writers and reporters to keep the community informed of local news, happenings and events.

Each week, The Northeast News publishes over 9,000 copies, reaching an estimated 22,000 readers, primarily in the 29229, 29223, and 29206 zip codes.

"A newspaper is the glue which holds a community together."

A community newspaper allows neighbors to share their news with neighbors. A community newspaper allows schools, churches, small businesses, and civic organizations to interact with the rest of the community. A community newspaper provides a positive influence for families, emphasizing the good news about our world instead of the bad. In short, a community newspaper improves our quality of life, and makes our community a better place to live.
